Jimmie Loye Holmes, 82, of Corning, Ohio died at 7:35 AM, Friday, August 9, 2019 at Genesis Healthcenter Perry County in Somerset following a sudden illness.
He was born December 20, 1936 in Crooksville, the son of the late Warren A and Lillian M. (nee: Newlon) Holmes.
Jim was a man who liked to just stay at home, mow his grass and being there with his wife and family. Back in the day, he liked playing music and talking on the CB, his handle was ‘The Mustache”.
Jim had worked at most of the local potteries, the Hull Pottery and the Watt Pottery and he retired from Petroware in Crooksville. He was Jehovah’s Witness by faith.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife of 62 years, Wilma (nee: Corp) Holmes; his daughter, Karen Holmes Tittle; his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Penny Holmes of Corning; his grandchildren, Ginger Keith, John Tittle, Rodney, Cody and Tyler Holmes; his great-grandchildren, Vilas Keith, Jr., Olivia Tittle, Caleb Tittle, John Tittle, III, Calianna Dunn and many more.
Jim was welcomed into his Eternal home by his son, Gary Holmes and many brothers and sisters.
Jim’s family has chosen cremation and his cremated remains will be laid to rest next to his son, Gary in Zion Cemetery in Portersville at a later date.
