In Loving Memory of Jeffrey L. Ratliff

Jeffrey L. Ratliff, a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, passed away on January 10, 2024 following an extended illness. Jeff was born on December 8, 1958, in Zanesville.

Jeff was a man of many talents and interests. He had a true passion for the construction industry and he put his skills to use as the proud owner and operator of JR Construction. Jeff's dedication and hard work were evident in every project he undertook. He had an innate ability to build and create, and his craftsmanship was admired by all who witnessed his handiwork.
While he excelled in his professional life, Jeff considered his role as a family man his greatest achievement. He cherished his beloved wife, Wilma Ratliff, and together they raised a beautiful and close-knit family. Their children, Stacie (Seth) Ratliff, Chase (Amber) Ratliff, Kolton (Ricky) Ratliff and Alli (Dylan) Nash; and his adored grandchildren Silas Ratliff, Anne-Marie Ratliff, Emily Ferguson, Ellie Ferguson, and Gracie Ferguson, Lillian Nash and Charlotte Nash. Jeff was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of his great-grandson, Waylon Phipps, thus completing his family circle.
Beyond his immediate family, Jeff is survived by his cherished brother Frank Ratliff, sister-in-law Julie Ratliff, and sister, Diane Ratliff, along with her partner Jim. Their bond was unbreakable, and through both good times and bad, they always stood by one another.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Pauline (Reed) Ratliff and his sister, Debbie Dennis and her husband, Bill Dennis.
Jeff had a zest for life that extended beyond his work and family. His love for the beach, particularly Myrtle Beach, was legendary. The crashing waves, warm sand, and salty breeze brought him a sense of serenity and peace that he carried with him throughout his life.
To honor Jeff's memory, his family has decided to honor his wishes and mourn privately. Jeff will be cremated following a private family ceremony.
Jeffrey L. Ratliff was a man with a heart of gold, a gentle spirit, and an unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through the immeasurable impact he made in the lives of those he touched and the memories that will forever be cherished.
Rest in peace, dear Jeff. You will be deeply missed.
