Janice Eleanor Mingus

Janice Eleanor Mingus, 78, of Crooksville peacefully passed away at 5:47 AM, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare & Rehabilitation in New Lexington.

She was born March 5, 1939 in Rosefarm, the daughter of the late, Andrew and Maude Ansel Lemity.

Janice was a homemaker and a member of The Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard "Buck" Mingus whom she married December 21, 1957; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Shaun Marolt of Corning; her son, Michael Mingus of Crooksville; her two granddaughters, Jordan Marolt and Sophia Marolt and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her sisters, Ida Altier, Audrey Jones, Rhea Stover, Buelah Ross and Mary Nixon and her brothers, Floyd Lemity, Don Lemity, Andrew Lemity, Jim Lemity and Dale Lemity.

Family and friends will be received, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Monday, December 11, 2017 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. A Holy Rosary service will be recited at the funeral home starting at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 12 at Church of The Atonement Catholic Church, 300 Winter St., Crooksville with Fr. Daniel Swartz as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery in Portersville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Janice's name to FairHope Hospice & Palliative Care, 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
