James E. "Jim" Collins, Jr. 73, of Crooksville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster following a brief illness.
Jim was born April 4, 1940 in Columbus to the late James Edward Sr. and Mary Virginia Harbour Collins.
He was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church in Fultonham, a member of the Crooksville American Legion Post #222 and served in the Vietnam War in the United States Army.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years Mona Collins of the home; his daughter, Debbie Hubbard of Crooksville; his son, Richard Whitehouse of Roseville; his grandchildren, Misty, Joey, Wesley, Richelle, Harry, William and Christy; and his great-granchildren, Job, Javin, Kinslee, Autumn, Ethan, Audrey, Ava, Carson and Wesson.
Family and friends may be received from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday, November 29th at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST. CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Jim's life will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Larry Diamond officiating. In keeping with Jim's wishes, a caring cremation will take place.
