Irene K. Frecker, 100, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Zanesville died at 11:04 PM, Monday, August 15, 2011 at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor in Columbus following a brief illness.

Irene was born June 25, 1911 in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Henry J. Freriks and Margaret A. Welch Freriks.

Mrs. Frecker was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zanesville and the Muskingum Valley Boating Association. She is currently a member of Pope John XXIII Catholic Church in Canal Winchester.

She is survived by her sons, Richard E. Frecker of Columbus, Frederick F. (Teresa) Frecker of Worthington and Msgr. A. Anthony Frecker of Canal Winchester; four grandchildren: Mary, Joseph, Allen and Timothy Frecker and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Emmett Frecker who died December 5, 1997; her brother, Henry Freriks and her sisters, Marie Carpenter and Lucille Freriks.

Mrs. Frecker's body will be received with a brief service at 4:00 PM, Friday, August 19 at Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 5170 Winchester Southern Rd. NW, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110. The Frecker family will receive visitors 4-6:45 PM at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 PM with Msgr. A. Anthony Frecker as celebrant. Interment will take place in New Lexington Cemetery on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pope John XXIII Catholic Church Building Fund at the address listed above.
