Hazel Marie Elkins

Hazel Marie Elkins, 88, of Crooksville, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Autumn at the Lake in Thornville.

Hazel was born in Newark on March 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Lanson and Tollie Hoffer Burge.

She had worked as a newspaper delivery person for the Tampa Tribune in Florida. She was also attended the McLuney Wesleyan Church in Crooksville.

Hazel is survived by her sisters, Naomi Hetrick and Alice Davis both of Crooksville; her niece, Naomi Powers and her granddaughter, Dawn Fadley of Newark.

In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Elkins who passed away on February 20, 1987 and her son William A. Burge.

Family and friends will be received at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Hazel's life will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor John Jividen officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery, McLuney.
