It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Harold Marvin Gibbs, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on September 22, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on May 29, 1940, in Deavertown, Ohio, to his parents, the late, Harold and Alice (Trussell) Gibbs.
Marvin lived a life centered around his Christian faith, serving as the Director of Christian Education, where he passionately guided others in their spiritual journeys. His devotion to Christ was evident in every aspect of his life, and he spent countless hours in worship and service, inspiring those around him to explore their own faith. A lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church, Marvin spent decades with the Crooksville Free Methodist Church and then with the Hopewell Free Methodist Church. Marvin's journey was marked by deep faith, unwavering devotion to God, and a commitment to his family and community.
He found great joy in the companionship of his loving wife, Nancy, with whom he traveled extensively, exploring all the beauty the lower 48 states had to offer. Their adventures together created cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of their loved ones. In addition to being a dedicated family man, Marvin was a skilled machinist who spent many years contributing to the manufacturing industry at Rockwell International. His work ethic and commitment to excellence reflected the pride he took in all areas of his life, from his impeccably maintained lawn to his spotless vehicles.
