Gordon Michael Duncan

Gordon M. Duncan, 71, of Mt. Vernon formerly of Crooksville, passed away at 12:46 PM, Sunday October 12, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.

Gordon was born on April 22, 1943 in Washington, D.C., the son of the late William and Flossie Waits Duncan.

He was a member of the Crooksville Free Methodist Church in Crooksville and was a truck stop maintenance worker by trade.

Gordon is survived by his step-daughter; Carolyn Gifford of Zanesville; his sister Mary Turner of Greensboro, NC; and his brothers, Donald (Edith) Duncan of Howard, OH, Allen Duncan of Waynesboro, VA, James (Charlene) Duncan of Ashville, NC, Phillip (Janeth) Duncan of Phoenix, AZ, Howard (Ruth) Duncan of Staunton, VA and Paul (Evelyn) Duncan of Leola, PA; his six step-grandchildren and his eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Jean Trussell Duncan who passed away November 7, 2009 and his brothers, Dale and Bernard Duncan.

Friends and family will be received, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Gordon's life will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, 16001 Glen Rd., Mt. Vernon.
