G. Maxine Van Atta

G. Maxine Van Atta, 86, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 11:30 AM, Friday, January 25, 2013 at Highland Oaks Care Center in McConnelsville following an extended illness.

Maxine was born July 5, 1926 in Crooksville, the daughter of the late Frank Levering and Augusta Hoops Levering Day.

She was the former assistant sales manager of Nelson McCoy Pottery in Roseville and a member of First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville.

Maxine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Kenton Weaver of McConnelsville; her son, Arthur "Pete" Van Atta of Lancaster; her sisters, Ruth Day and Leva Hughes both of Mt. Vernon and her grandchildren, Alisha Van Atta, Ryan Weaver and Barbara Weaver.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine E. Van Atta who passed away November 25, 1987; her sisters,Bonnie Hines, Norma Levering, Louise Allen and Kathryn Davis and her brother, Harold Levering.

Family and friends will be received 4:00-8:00 PM, Monday, January 28 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Maxine's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 29 at the funeral home with Pastor Gay E. Blau officiating. Maxine will be laid to rest next to her husband in Crooksville Cemetery.
