Floyd Eugene Thorp, Sr., 79, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 11:08 AM, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, surrounded by his family. He was born on Saturday, August 17, 1946 in Jobe’s Hollow, Ohio, a son of the late Frank Thorp and Beatrice (Campbell) Thorp Moyer.  Floyd worked for 42 ½ years at the Cesco Plant in Crooksville where he was a laborer and a caster. He was a member of the former Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville. His other memberships include New Lexington Eagles, VFW Post 9090 Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion Post 222 and AmVets of Buckeye Lake.  Floyd married the love of his life, Margaret ‘Peggy’ (O’Neal) Thorp on August 22, 1964 and they began their family together. Floyd and Peggy worked hard to make a good life for their children and give them a loving home. Floyd was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and brother and he will be sadly missed. He was an ornery fellow, he loved to joke with and tease his family and friends.  Left behind to mourn his passing are his children, Teresa (Harold) Hines, Lori Thomas, Cathy Hinkle and Floyd Thorp, Jr. (Renee Bremmer); his grandchildren, Christopher, Deanna, Amber, Danny, JoAnn, Kasey, Whitney, Tiffany, Aric, Ashley, Ethan, Hannah, Kayla, Alexis, and Tequilla; nineteen great-grandchildren; his sister, Sheila (Bill) Givens and his sisters-in-law, Betty Manring, Carol Taylor and Debbie O’Neal.  In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy; his twin daughters, Billie Wnek and Betty Speakman; his brothers, Delbert Thorp and Donald Thorp; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Joseph and Anna Mae O’Neal, his son-in-law, Danny Thomas, his step-father, Jesse ‘Art’ Moyer and his step-brother, Jeff Moyer.  Family and friends may visit to pay respect 2-8 pm, Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, December 12 at the funeral home with Father Emmanuel Adu Addai as celebrant. Floyd will be laid to rest next to his wife in Crooksville Cemetery. Following the burial, family and friends will gather at the Crooksville-Roseville VFW Post 9090 for food and fellowship.  Contributions may be made in memory of Floyd to the Perry County Cancer Crawl account at Park National Bank in New Lexington.
