Eugene F. Gossman

Eugene F. Gossman, 81, of Crooksville, Ohio, surrounded by the family who loved him, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009. Born July 9, 1928, Gene lived his life as a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, and those who mourn his passing have the great joy of knowing he is with his Saviour. He served his country in the US Army following WW2. Gene was a farmer and a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Pleasant City. He was also an avid Buckeyes fan and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren the pleasures of a good game of euchre. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Wilma (Sharkus) Gossman; his children, Linda Hohl, Barbara Gossman, Susan Whitten, Greg (Janie) Gossman, and Karen (Greg) Rietema; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, John Gossman, Doug (Donna) Gossman, Dave (Patty) Gossman; sister, Evelyn Holleran; sisters-in-law, Mary Niswonger and Anna Beardsley; step-mother, Wilda Gossman; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gossman and Della (Houck) Gossman, brother, Red; sisters, Madeline Barry, Mary Lintner and Lois Bruckman and son-in-law, Dave Hohl. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M., Monday, August 10 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, August 11 with Father Dan Loya officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery near Crooksville.
