Doris Ann Poole, 93, of Crooksville, passed away peacefully at 1:45 AM, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Inn at Renaissance Village in Middletown, Ohio.

She was born on September 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Ola Blanche Angel Anderson.

Doris was a retired self-employed real-estate agent, area pottery worker and former employee of Cady Insurance Agency of Crooksville. She was a former Crooksville Village Council person, a member of the board of public affairs, the Crooksville Cemetery Board, Order of Eastern Star-Carnation Chapter #167, CCL Mothers Club. In addition, she was the former President of the Crooksville-Roseville Senior group and a member of the Council of Aging for Perry County's seniors and its board of trustees. Doris was a member of the First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer and Bryan Johnson of Springboro and Jordan and Christina Roach of Louisville, Kentucky and her special son-in-law and his wife, Jim and Beverly Tharp of Cincinnati.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne Poole who passed away May 4, 1990, her twin daughters, Jackie Roach who passed away January 8, 1988 and Jill Poole who passed away August 6, 2005, her son-in-law, Sid Roach who passed away July 14, 1995; her brothers, Harold, Charles, Bill and Richard Anderson and her sisters, Eleanore Watts and Ruth Claypool.

Friends and family will be received 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Doris's life will be 1:00 PM on Thursday May 8th with Rev. Gay Blau officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Hope United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 201, Crooksville, OH 43731. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
