Donna D. Proctor Neader, 82 of Crooksville, Ohio, formerly of Marietta passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 11, 2011, at the residence of her daughter, Pat, with whom she made her home.
She was born May 4, 1928, in Marietta, the daughter of the late Milton D. and Phyllis K. Weber Proctor.
Mrs. Neader was a former employee of the State Highway Department of Washington County. In the early 1960's, she was the clerk and the acting Postmaster of the Barlow post office. She was a former employee of the Bartlett Farmers' Bank.
Donna then worked as the personal secretary to an officer of the Grand Lodge of Ohio of the Masonic Lodge. She was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and Circle, a former member of Civitan and had been a thirty-year member of the choir. Donna was an avid Cincinnati Reds, OSU and Duke University sports fan. Her interests included bird watching and she loved to feed the birds, working in her flowers, especially roses and pansies, and she liked to travel.
Mrs. Neader is survived by her daughter, Patricia Neader of Crooksville; her sister, Eileen Schad of Carmel, Indiana; her brothers, Milton N. Proctor of Marietta and Robert D. (Louise) Proctor of Knoxville, Tennesee; two nephews, Neil (Donna) Proctor of Sedona, Arizona and Larry Proctor of Marietta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Neader who passed away in March of 2000 and her sister-in-law, Louise Proctor.
The Neader family will receive visitors 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 13 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 14 at Gilman United Methodist Church, Gilman Ave., Marietta where funeral services and a celebration of Donna's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Diann O'Bryant and Rev. John W. Glick officiating. Burial will follow in the Barlow Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gilman United Methodist Church or Choir, or the Alzheimers Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
