Donald S. Harper

Donald S. Harper, 75, of Newark, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.

Donald was born May 21, 1941 in Roseville, the son of the late, William Harper and Roberta (Stansberry) Skeenes.

Donald served his country in the United States Air Force and he attended the South Zanesville Church of the Nazarene. Donald was a former shift supervisor at Ferro Alloy in Philo. In his Christian life he touched many lives, especially through his works as a former youth fellowship leader and lay speaker for the former EUB in Crooksville.

Donald is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Debra (Settles) Harper of the home; his daughters, Marcia (Mike) Cavinee of Crooksville, Lori (Mike) Freeman of Lancaster, Roberta Jane (Brett Scott) of Crooksville, Jenifer (Chad) Newton of Zanesville and Heather Bonifield of Zanesville; his sons, Robert (Lauren) Bebout of Cincinnati, Brian Bebout of Newark and Mark (Deana) Bebout of Newark; his sisters, Jackie (Emil) Witek of Las Vegas, NV and Bonita (Roy) Reid of Zanesville; his brother Larry (Sandy) Harper of Roseville; his uncle, Dayle Grable; and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Harper; his second wife, Susie Harper; his brothers, Bob Harper and William "Bill" Harper; his step-father, Warren Skeenes; his step-mother, Nadine Harper and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Settles.

A memorial service and celebration of Donald's life will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2016, at the Unity Nazarene Church, 7835 Rose Hill Rd., Roseville, with Pastor Larry Harper officiating.
