Donald "Don" E. Fitzgerald, 73, of Crooksville, passed away at 2:30 A.M., Friday, November 6, 2009 at Willow Haven Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born September 11, 1936 in Zanesville (Sonora) to the late Joseph and Goldie Reed Fitzgerald. Don was a retired machinist for Rockwell Internationl, a member of the Old Steam and Gas Tractor Club, Fairfield County Antique Tractor Club and a member of the Church of The Atonement. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Fitzgerald; his daughters, Pam (Phil) Carolan of Adrian, MI., Robin Collins of Marietta, Annette (Rick) Piacentini of Rochester, NY., Rhonda (Doug) West of Zanesville; his sons, Drew (Beverly) Collins of Crooksville and Rick Smith of Zanesville; his sisters, Alice (Cecil) Cain of Duncan Falls and Cathy (Ray) McClary of Wooster; his grandchildren, Christian Collins, Deidra and Shiloh West, Brittany Smith, Dominic, Olivia, Emily and Nico Piacentini, Ian and Abby Carolan, Erica and Elliot Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Cheryl Collins Reed; and grandchildren, Joshua James West and Jezamiah Smith. Friends may call from
2-4 & 6-8 P.M., Sunday, November 8, 2009 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville, where a Wake Service will be held at 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, November 9 at the Church of the Atonement, 320 Winter Street,Crooksville. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Sonora.
