In Loving Memory of Donald Kem Dalrymple (1954-2024)

Donald Kem Dalrymple, a man of profound dedication, heartfelt humor, and deep family love, passed away on January 25, 2024, in Roseville, Ohio. Born on July 25, 1954, in Zanesville, Ohio, Kem's life was a beautiful blend of laughter, hard work, and an enduring love story with his beloved wife, Roxanne.

Kem's humor, a delightful part of his personality, was matched by a playful spirit that brought joy to those around him. He had a knack for light-hearted mischief, bringing smiles and laughter to family gatherings. His laugh was unmistakable and infectious, echoing in the hearts of those who knew him.

A pillar of strength and reliability, Kem approached every task with a commitment that inspired respect and admiration. His relationship with Roxanne, both graduates of Crooksville High School in 1972, was the cornerstone of his life. Together, they built a world filled with love, mutual support, and shared dreams, leaving a legacy of love that deeply touched their family and friends.

As a father, Kem was a guiding force in the lives of his sons, Brett and Brady. He was their coach, mentor, and biggest supporter, instilling in them values of integrity and perseverance. His influence extended to his cherished grandchildren, Evey, Bodey, Theo, Owen, and Stella, with whom he was always ready with a joke to make them laugh, while effortlessly sharing his wisdom and love.

He found great happiness in his relationships with his daughter-in-laws, Toni and Lindsey Dalrymple. Kem also held a special bond with his brothers, Jim and Tom Dalrymple, and their respective wives, Lori and Sarah Dalrymple.

Kem's professional journey, marked by significant contributions to Columbia Cement, Crooksville Schools, Muskingum County Head Start, and the Ohio Department of Transportation, was characterized by an unwavering work ethic. He left a lasting impact on his colleagues and all who worked alongside him.

His involvement in the Aladdin Shrine, Doric Lodge 172, and the Scottish Rite was reflective of his belief in community and fellowship. Kem formed lasting connections within these organizations, enriching his life and the lives of others through active participation and camaraderie.

In addition to his parents, Robert and Barbara (Kemerer) Dalrymple, Kem is welcomed into eternal life by his beloved soulmate who died just weeks before him, Roxanne (Freriks) Dalrymple.
