Dianne Mae Smith, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Her departure marks the end of a life filled with warmth, devotion, and simple joys that touched everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Dianne was one of five children, born on January 12, 1949 in Zanesville to the late, Bill and Hattie (Stansberry) Clark.
Dianne was a woman of quiet strength and boundless love. She found comfort and happiness in the small pleasures of life, including her cherished hobby of sewing. With nimble fingers and a patient heart, she created not just garments but memories. Outside her home, her flower beds blossomed under her attentive watch, a colorful reflection of her nurturing spirit. Tending to her flowers was more than a pastime; it was a labor of love that brought her peace and beauty into her days. When her health limited her mobility, Dianne found solace in television, often spending hours channel surfing, drawn to anything that intrigued her. She especially enjoyed re-runs of her favorite shows, reveling in the familiarity and comfort they provided. This simple joy was a window into a life that valued connection, entertainment, and moments of quiet reflection. Above all, Dianne was a loving companion to her husband, a devoted mother to her children, and a deeply cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was an enduring light that will continue to guide and inspire.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her husband of 58 years, Ben Smith; her children, Bobbie (Scott) Sheppard, Stacey (Todd) Fulk, Beth (Jim) Ludwig, Mary Smith and Benny Smith; her brothers, Terry Clark and Charles (Sandy) Clark; as well as her 15 grandchildren, her 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dianne is preceded in death by her siblings, Billy Clark and Barbara Lantz.
The Smith family has chosen to mourn privately, Dianne will be cremated and returned to her loving family.
