Deloris L. Dodson

Deloris Louise Dodson, 89, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 6:41 A.M., Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Autumn Health Care Center in Somerset following an extended illness.

She was born October 9, 1921 in Glouster, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Ethel Eddy Brooks. Deloris was a former employee of Essex Wire in Zanesville. She was a former active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Corning where she was the church pianist. Currently, she was a member of Iliff United Methodist Church at McLuney where she was a member of the Coffee Cup Bible Study group.
She had also played the piano for Tapman's and Pleasant Grove churches.

Mrs. Dodson is survived by her son, Richard Dodson of Pataskala; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Dodson of Blacklick; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sandra & Jeff Conklin, Scott & Jennifer Dodson, Carol & Bud Witney and Sheila & Cary Russell; seven great grandchildren, Katie, Tyler, Zachary, Marianna, Gabriella, Mason and Megan; sisters-in-law, Gladys Dodson of Michigan and Mary Dodson of Worthington and many special friends.

In addition to her parents, Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, William Dodson whom she married on September 3, 1938 and who passed away on December 3, 1975; her son, John Dodson; her brothers, Richard Brooks and David Curtis Brooks and her sister, Violet Brooks.

The Dodson family will receive visitors beinning at 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 29 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Deloris' life will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday with Pastors John Sellers and Richard Newlon officiating with a vocal selection presented by Mary Perani. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery at Millertown.
