Daniel A. Manring, 68 of Crowley Dr., Roseville, Ohio died at 5:45 A.M., Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville after an extended illness. Born May 31, 1941 in Columbus, he was the son of the late B. Alwyn and Lucille Guest Manring. Daniel was a retired employee of Cerco in Crooksville and a member of Iliff United Methodist Church at McLuney. He was Past Master and a 42 year member of Peerless Lodge 591 F. & A.M. in Crooksville, Past President of the 13th Masonic District, a member of Eastern Star Carnation Chapter #167, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shriners, served as secretary for 15 years of Zavi Shrine and volunteered at Shriners' Hospital in Cincinnati. Daniel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty O'Neil Manring; his daughter, Michelle Wilson of Crooksville; his son, Steven Manring; sisters and brothers-in-law, Floyd & Peggy Thorp, Carol & Gene Taylor, Bill O'Neal all of Crooksville and Jim & Debbie O'Neal of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson of Wright State University, Madison Wilson of Crooksville and Danny Manring. He was known as "Pappy" to his granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Manring and his aunt & uncle Kenneth & Mary Manring. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Thursday, October 8 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE STREET, CROOKSVILLE where Peerless Lodge will hold Masonic Services at 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 9 with Dr. Marilyn Murphree officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery in McLuney.
