Dale Gene Gibbs, 54, of Rosefarm, passed away at 1:15 P.M., Saturday, October 10, 2009 at his residence after a sudden illness. Born February 18, 1955 in Zanesville, Dale was a loader operator at Oxford Coal Mine, together with his wife, was the former owner of Gibby's Tavern in Crooksville, a member of the Crooksville Free Methodist Church, and he had served our country in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Schooley Gibbs; his daughters, Chasity (Mike) Whissen of Crooksville, Kari (Aaron) Hamilton of Junction City and Korrie Gibbs of Crooksville; His son, (Dale) Gene Gibbs,II of Crooksville; his step-children, Brent (Camela) Baker, Keston (Christina) Curtis, and Renee (Jim) Sparks; his grandchildren, Lane Penrod, Clay Whissen and Branson Whissen; step grandchildren, Tamera Curtis, Christopher Baker, Loren Baker, and Mary Ann (Tom) Snyder; step great grandchild, Sean Snyder; his sister, Rose (Olen) Folden; his brothers, Marvin (Nancy) Gibbs, Wayne (Susan) Gibbs, and Alan (Petra) Gibbs; and sister-in-law, Joanne Gibbs. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Harold B. & Alice Trussell Gibbs and his brother, Rodney Gibbs. Friends may call from 3-8 P.M., Monday, October 12, 2009 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 13 with Pastor Geoff Geyer officiating. In keeping with Dale's wishes, cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Crooksville Free Methodist Church, 169 W. Main St., Crooksville, Ohio 43731, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
