Cyril Wesley Adams

Cyril Wesley Adams, 94, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at his home with his devoted daughters by his side.

He was born Friday, September 20, 1929 in Zanesville, the son of the late John Quincy and Dorothy (nee: Willison) Adams.

Cyril had retired from Rockwell International in Newark where he worked as a maintenance/repair technician.  His work ethic was impeccable, he believed in a good day’s pay for a hard day’s work.   He was known as ‘Mr. Fix-it’ as he could fix anything and was more than willing to do so for anyone who asked him.   He was very good at shooting a great game of pool.  Cyril loved to hunt deer, especially with his grandsons.  They spent countless hours in the woods, scouting and hunting deer and forming an unbreakable bond. He enjoyed fishing as well.  He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Janice and father to his daughters, Sharon and Gail.  He treasured his grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and dearly loved his brothers.  Cyril was a member of Peerless Lodge 591 F. & A M and he was former Worthy Patron of Order of Eastern Star.

Left behind to mourn his passing are his daughters, Sharon Worthington and Gail Garland; his grandchildren, Nathan Worthington, Josh (Jill) Jones and Marisa Jones; his great-grandchildren, Hannah Worthington, Anelia (Chase) Rice, Dalton (Jessica) Schmidt, Hunter Bain Schmidt, Caden Worthington, Jaedon Torres, Xavier Jones and Maximus Jones; numerous great-grandchildren and his brother, Charles (Susan) Adams.

In addition to his parents, Cyril was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice (nee: Stephenson) Adams who died December 22, 2011; his brother, Jerry Adams and his grandson and hunting buddy, Garrett Worthington who died November 10, 2023.

Family and friends are invited to gather 4-7 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville to pay respects to Cyril and his family where Peerless Lodge will hold Masonic services at 6:45 PM.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 27 with Pastor John Adams as celebrant.  Following the service, Cyril will be laid to rest next to his wife in Crooksville Cemetery.  The pall bearers that will carry Cyril to his place of rest are Nathan Worthington, Joshua Jones, Chuck Adams, Kevin Adams, John Adams and honorary pall bear is Charles Adams.
