Clara Ellen Zink

Clara Ellen Zink, 89, of Crooksville, Ohio went to be with her Lord at 4:30 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Somerset Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

She was born August 19, 1928 in West Columbia, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Raymond 'Curly' and Edna (Aumiller) Ewing. She married Floyd 'Whitey' Zink on May 7, 1947.

Clara was a former employee of Essex Wire in Zanesville. After the death of her husband, Clara continued to own and operate their business, Zink's Auto Parts that was located at her home. They were valued members of the community. She was a longtime member of Crooksville Free Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Sharon Zink, Jr. of Zanesville; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Russell Benedict of Roseville; her step son-in-law, Melvin Rupe of Cannelville; her eight grandchildren, Floyd Zink III, Bryan Joseph Zink, Corey Zink, Zackery Thomas, Rachael Miller, Heidi Miller, Heather Gaskins and Levi Benedict; her five step-grandchildren, Trent Heskett, Cary Heskett, Lorie Ludwig, Crystal Ransom, and Shanda McConnell; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. and her sisters, Rosa Rupe of Crooksville, Stella Watts of Roseville, Ella Dalrymple of Crooksville and Norma Cannon of Roseville.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Zink, Sr. who passed away August 23, 1991; her infant daughter, Ellen Jane Zink; her step-daughter, Cassandra Rupe; her sister, Etta Goff and her brothers, Earl Ewing and Raymond Ewing, Jr.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, December 13 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST, CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Clara's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 14 at the funeral home with Pastor Debbie Grimmett officiating. Following the service, she will be buried beside her beloved husband in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
