Christy Marlene (Jones) Cox

Christy Marlene Cox, 67, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 3:40 PM, Monday, November 15, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare following a brief illness.

She was born June 30, 1954 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Marion F. and Mary Pauline (nee: Reed) Jones.

Christy was a 1972 graduate of Crooksville High School and a former employee of United Technologies (Bryant’s) in New Lexington.  She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and watching television.  She was a member of Oakfield Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Cox and Lisa Cox; her grandchildren, Michael Shawn, Elizabeth Maria and Joshua Allen Llewellyn and Austin Michael Cox and three great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Christy was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Lou Allen.

Family and friends will be received beginning at 10 AM, Friday, November 19 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Mary Perani as celebrant.  Christy will be laid to rest next to her parents in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington.
