Charles Edward Imlay

Charles Edward Imlay, 76, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville passed away at 2:10 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Autumn Healthcare in Zanesville following an extended illness.

Ed was born January 23, 1937 in Zanesville, the son of the late Loren E. and Blanche Mae Driggs Imlay.

He was a 1954 graduate of Crooksville High and school and a 1959 graduate of Marietta College. He was an electrical engineer and worked at RCA from 1962-1965 and Stancor Electronics, Inc. from 1959-1962.He retired from Cooper Power System after 31 years. Ed was a 50 year memeber of Grace United Methodist Church in Zanesville. He served on the West Muskingum Board of Education for four years and was a member the Zanesville Sports Car Club.

Ed is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marcia E. Nethers Imlay; his sons, Greg A. (Beth) Imlay of Apache Junction, Arizona and Philip E. Imlay of Zanesville; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Joseph Olson of Philo; his grandchildren, Brandie(Paul) DiCosmo, Rachelle Imlay and Clint Imlay,all of Arizona and Jourdan Imlay of Crooksville; great grandchildren, Briana and Paul DiCosmo; nephew, Anthony (Tunde) Olson of Florida, great nephew, Alex Olson, and brother-in-law Ronald Nethers of Zanesville.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Imlay; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Bessie Nethers, many cousins and friends.

Family and friends will be received at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 27 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. A memorial service and celebration of Ed's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Gay E. Blau officiating. Ed's cremains will be interred at Zanesville Memorial Park at a later date.
