Charles P. Harbaugh, Jr

Charles Pius Harbaugh, Jr., 71, of New Lexington, Ohio passed away at 2:30 PM, Friday, March 11, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.

Chuck was born April 29, 1944 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of the late Charles P. Harbaugh, Sr. and Norma (McDuff) Boyer.

Chuck was an interior designer and general contractor who spent most of his career in California. One of his passions was owning and driving fast race cars. In later years, Chuck became a very active and supportive participant in Alcoholics Anonymous and formed close friendships with many people also in AA. He was a former member of Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville.

Chuck is survived by his brother, Ron (June) Harbaugh of New Lexington; three nieces, Deanna, Wendy and Julie, his aunt, Harriett (James) Densmore of Crooksville, several cousins and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pius and Clara Louise (Randant) Harbaugh who reared him; his step-mother, Florence Harbaugh and his step-father, Bob Boyer.

A memorial service and a celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Crooksville.
