Charles C. Adams, Sr.

August 24, 1945 — October 28, 2025

Crooksville

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we celebrate the life of Charles "Charlie" Adams, Sr., who departed this world on Monday, October 28, 2025, with his loving family at his side.

Charlie was born on August 24, 1945, in Zanesville, a son to the late, John and Dortha (Willison) Adams.

A skilled machinist, Charlie spent 30 fulfilling years at Rockwell International, forging a career that demonstrated his strong work ethic and dedication. In his retirement, he embraced the role of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, spending valuable time with his beloved family. Charlie was a true outdoorsman, whose passions for fishing and hunting created many cherished moments for family and friends. He shared his love for nature with those around him, embodying a spirit of adventure that inspired everyone he met. Charlie was a huge Ohio State and Crooksville Ceramics football fan as evident by his involvement in the Crooksville Athletic Association, where he proudly served as president for many years. His craftsmanship and commitment to the community were evident when he used his carpentry skills to build the press box at the Village Park’s football field, and he lovingly contributed to the maintenance of the field itself. Charlie’s warmth, humor, and enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to shine through the memories shared by Susan, their children, and cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charlie leaves behind his darling wife of 62 years, Susan (Wyer) Adams; his children, Charles “Chuck” (Jill) Adams, Kevin Adams and Louisa (Bucky) Post; his grandchildren, Michael Post, Hillary (Cody) Stanley, Clay (Audrey) Adams, David Adams and Erin Adams; his great-grandchildren, Slade Post, Carley Stanley, Hoytt Stanley, Killian Adams, Ryder Post, Layla Post and Huntley Stanley as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his grandson, Shad Adams and his brothers, Jerry Adams and Cyril Adams.

The Adams family invited friends to visit from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Charlie’s nephew, John Adams, officiating. Charlie will then be laid to rest in Iliff Cemetery.
