Alvurda K. "Pete" Linger

Alvurda Kathleen "Pete" Linger, 84, of Brown Circle Dr., Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 6:15 A.M., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Autumn Healthcare of Zanesville following an extended illness. She was born April 7, 1925 in Deavertown, the daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Jauchius) Kirkwood. Pete was a former employee of the Hull Pottery Company and she had lived in Mt. Vernon for a time. After returning to Crooksville, she very much enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center. She said her most joyous memories were of being a homemaker on the family farm in Tridelphia. Pete was a member of the Crooksville Baptist Church. She survived by her grandchildren, Richard (Leisa) Hyde of Byesville and Cynthia (Shawn) Arnett of Albion, New York; her great grandchildren, Dakota Hyde, Justin and Aaron Arnett; her sister-in-law, Tess Kirkwood; her caregiver, Melody Kirkwood; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Forrest L. "Fizz" Linger, who died Oct. 7, 2000; her beloved daughter, Melody Bennett; her sister, Iva Porter; and her brothers, Edwin Ray Kirkwood and Russell Kirkwood. Friends may call 6-8 P.M., Thursday, May 7 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 8 with Rev. Carolyn Hoskinson and Larry Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
