Ala Marie Meadows Kinnan

Ala Marie Meadows Kinnan, 93, of Roseville, passed away at 2:40 AM, Friday, September 12, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Ala was born October 14, 1920 in Speed, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Jacob and Emma Hill Meadows.

She was a retired employee of Columbia Gas. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseville, a member of Order of the Eastern Star Olive Branch Chapter #251 in Duncan Falls. Ala was the former Deputy Grand Matron of District 16, a member of Women of Evangelical Church of America as well as the Zanesville Christian Womens' Club and she was an honorary member of the Progress Club.

Ala is survived by her daughters, Trena Kinnan and Kay Kinnan both of Roseville; her sister-in-law Edna Meadows of Michigan; her special great-great niece, Julie Sowers and her great-great-great niece Emma Kate. She treasured all her nieces and nephews and their families dearly as well as her friends and neighbors. Ala considered Flo, the Genesis Home health givers and Hospice caregivers as family.

In addition to her parents, Ala is preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Kinnan who passed away on November 3, 2006; her brothers, Earnest Meadows, Hearst Meadows, Paul Meadows, Calvin Meadows, Hulbert Meadows, John Meadows and her sisters, Ethel Simmons and Ella Mattox.

Friends and family will be received, Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 4:00 PM- 7:30 PM with Eastern Star services at 7:30 PM, at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Ala's life will be Monday, September 15 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 104 N. MAIN ST., ROSEVILLE, with Frank Clifton officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseville and Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care Morrison House, 713 Forrest Ave., Zanesville, 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
