A. Louise Sturgill Brown, 88, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 3:45 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at New Lexington Care and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

She was born March 11, 1923 in Floyd County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Romirland and Hattie Sattler Sturgill.

Louise was a former employee of the The Hull Pottery Company in Crooksville. She retired from the Crooksville K-8 School where she worked as a cook. Louise attended New Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville. She was a member of the American Legion 222 Auxiliary in Crooksville and Carnation Chapter 167 Order of Eastern Star in New Lexington.

Louise is survived by her nieces, Ann (Mike) Hankinson of Crooksville and Paula (Jim Pursley) Allton of Punta Gorda, Florida; her nephew, Jon (Erin) Sturgill of Nashville, Illinois; her great nieces and nephews, Leah and Jacob Hankinson, Matthew, Lucy, Olivia, Drake, Grant and Kade Sturgill, Brock and Kirk Allton; her sister-in-law, Shirley Sturgill of Crooksville.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Semon; her brother, William Herman Sturgill and her half-brother, George Treadway.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 AM- 12 noon, Friday, January 20 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Louise's life will be held at 12 noon Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in Louise's memory to the Resident's Christmas Fund of New Lexington Care & Rehab, 920 S. Main St., New Lexington, OH 43764. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
