Welcome to the memorial page for

Wayne "Ed" Allen Brown

November 13, 1943 ~ December 15, 2018 (age 75)

Life-long resident of Crooksville, Wayne "Ed" Allen Brown rejoined his beloved wife, Mary Jane on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Together again, they are dwelling in the comfort of Heaven.

Wayne was born just as his other siblings on the old Brown Homestead in Crooksville on November 13, 1943, the son of the late Donald and Lorena (Dailey) Brown.

Wayne was a simple man, a man of deep commitment to his family and country, the proof was in his generosity and constant love for his family and his brilliant and proud service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and his local service on the Crooksville Fire Department. All who loved Wayne, knew of his ability to literally fix anything. He was an accomplished machinist and a self-taught electrician and plumber, he was always available to fix anything for his family and friends. He had numerous interests and hobbies, but his top, life-long fascination was for tractors, even as a little boy, Wayne spent hours riding and fixing these hard-working machines. As an adult, Wayne and his brothers would travel the country as members of the Ford Fordson Society, where they would get to see a wide variety of antique tractors. Wayne was also widely known as a card shark, he and Mary Jane frequently spent their time playing euchre and hausey. Wayne was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dear friend. It is with tremendous sadness that the family must now say goodbye to the vessel which housed this deeply loved man. Wayne had a deep abiding respect for his fellow man, any and all who knew Wayne sensed his authenticity and one could not help but reciprocate. He will be deeply missed. Although gone in flesh, the family takes great comfort in knowing he is once again with his wife and they are dancing on streets of gold!

Surviving Wayne in life are his darling daughters, Kelly Bresett and Candi (Andy) Apperson; his son, Keith (Dee) Brown; his sister, Kay (Butch) Ansel, his brothers, Gerald (Beverly) Brown and Terry Brown; his brothers-in-law, Jerome (Peggy) Watts and Paul (Judy) Watts; his precious grandchildren, Keeley, Faith, Delbert (Jennifer), Justin, Bradley, Dakota, Layne, Shelby, Chloe, Draven and Tristen; and his three little great-grandchildren, Jackson, Gracie and Rilynn. Surviving Wayne also, is his best friend and fur child, Parker.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Watts) Brown who died, December 10, 2015; his son, Jonathan Brown, his son-in-law, Tyroan Bresett, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Benny and Faye Watts, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna (Chuck) Wood and Nugget (Becky) Brown and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Brown and Nancy Watts.

The Brown family will receive friends 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services and a celebration of Wayne’s life will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 20 at the funeral home with his son, Pastor Keith Brown officiating. Wayne will be laid to eternal rest next to his beloved wife Mary Jane and among his ancestors in Crooksville Cemetery. In deep respect for his selfless service, the United States Army will present full Military Honors, in conjunction with the American Legion Post 222 and the VFW Post 9090.
